TheNetVR is a collaborative effort between a team of volunteers with one dream - to change the livestreaming industry forever. Our team of expert programmers, designers, modelers, and animators have worked tirelessly on TheNetVR Theater, and it shows. We have achieved numerous awards, including GDC’s Best in Show award for our theaters, and are proud to continue our efforts in the future. At TheNetVR, we believe you are more than a username.
Despite the fact that we do support Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs) such as the Meta series of products and Valve Index, that is not what the ‘VR’ in ‘TheNetVR’ means. We are seeking a new axis of communication for users. We are creating a cutting edge platform that allows users to interact as they would in real life without the hesitations the real world brings. For social interactions and watchalongs, we are creating a new reality, one in which your favorite streams are broadcast on huge theater screens and your favorite merch is just a click away. Our mission is to create a new, virtual reality.
As of now, streamers and their viewers couldn’t be more distant. Streamers have thousands of simultaneous voices to parse, and viewers are relegated to simply being part of “chat” rather than an individual. In our 3D virtual reality spaces, called TheNetVR Theaters, those in chat can walk around, message others, interact with the environment, or just kick back and watch the show! Our team believes that viewers are more than a username and hopes to use livestreaming to bring people together, helping them create new memories and forge new relationships through their shared interests.
We're thrilled to share that Net VR was honored with a Game Developers Choice Award in 2021 for our innovative contributions to virtual reality. This recognition is a testament to our team's hard work and creativity in developing VR experiences that are not only immersive but truly transformative. Winning this award at such a prestigious event motivates us to continue exploring new possibilities and delivering VR content that exceeds expectations. At Net VR, every challenge is an opportunity to lead and inspire in the VR community, and we're excited about what the future holds.
